A superior performance in games against Chub Feeney League clubs propelled the New York Yankees to the first championship in the Bud Selig East. The Yankees barely beat out the Cincinnati Reds, who won the Chub Feeney League.

The New York Yankees finished second in the Joe Cronin League in 2010, while the Cincinnati Reds won the Chub Feeney League.
But mix those two leagues together, throw in their interleague games and divide the whole thing in half, and you get different results. The Reds and Yankees both land in the Bud Selig East, which the Yankees won over the Reds by a mere ½ game.
The Yankees made up the difference with their 8-4 record against NL teams in the Bud Selig League (Houston, the Dodgers and the New York Mets). The Reds were 4-2 in their games against Joe Cronin clubs, but that difference between the Yankees and Reds in these games is a full game, which put the Yankees over the top.
