During the first year of following traveling championships in seven major leagues throughout the world, the prize traveled nowhere so much as Mexico, where 14 of the 18 Liga MX teams took a turn.
The 2015-16 season came out pretty evenly in LigaMX, where we ran the traveling championship for the first time.
Toluca won the most games in the first year of the competition, six of them during a six-game winning streak in March and April. Toluca also won a championship in August, giving it seven wins for the season.
Next in line were Pachuca and Club América with five wins each, then UNAM and Chiapas with four wins each.
However, the only teams to win multiple championships were Club América, Toluca, UNAM and UANL, each with two.
By the end of the 2014-15 season, 14 of the Mexican league's 18 teams held the title.
